The Canton Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to participate in the National Leap of Kindness Day on Thursday, February 29th, and so can you! We are inviting everyone to use their extra day this Leap Year, on February 29th, to do something kind for someone else, or for an organization, a local business or school.
Leap of Kindness Day was invented by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce in 2016. The idea was to inspire their Chamber Members and community to use their extra day that Leap Year to do something kind for someone else, and hundreds of local organizations helped thousands of local people on February 29, 2016. They did it again in 2020, four years later, with more communities through the United States joining in and this year will be even more communities across the USA, and we want our communities to be a part of it this year!
Start thinking about something kind you, or a group you are involved in, could do on February 29th then share it here on the Canton Chamber FB page using the hashtag #leapofkindnessday so we all can see the many acts of kindness during the kindenss campaign.
If you need ideas, head to our website https://www.cantonillinois.org/chamber/ to see several suggestions on what you could do. There will be a list of nonprofits in our local area that will be listing some needs they have that you could purchase or possibly volunteer for a project. Or maybe there is that one person who is always helpful to you and by sending a note of thanks or appreciation you would show your kindness and touch a heart. Whatever you decide to do, weather big or small, be sure to share your kindness with a picture to share right here (or on your own social media).
Let's light up February 29th with some kindness right here in our communities during the Leap of Kindness Day.
