Job description

Overview:

The Executive Director is responsible for directing all day-to-day aspects of Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County’s mission, vision, and programs, including oversight of the operational, financial, and external relation components of the organization. The Executive Director will cultivate and nurture relationships with civic leaders, partners, funders, elected officials, and other public and private stakeholders; raise capital through grants, equity capital, loans, and contributions to sustain the organization and the work of the affiliates; work closely with the Board to build capacity, diversity, and expertise in key areas; and design, recruit, and develop volunteers. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.

· 50% of your time spent on learning about Habitat for Humanity with focus centered around fundraising and developing relationships with city officials and local businesses.

· 30% of your time spent on quarterly/annually reports to Habitat International. Maintaining a “good standing” with HFHI and annual testing and certification as a Qualified Loan Originator and Safety Competent Person.

· 10% of your time administrative duties.

· 10% of your time participating at jobsite interacting with the Construction Manager and volunteers.

Responsibilities:

· In partnership with the President, prepares the agenda for the monthly board meetings.

· Follows and is acquainted with HFHFC, HFHI proceedings during executive meetings.

· Oversees and manages all affiliate operations, including office/administrative functions, construction activities, family service activities, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising.

· Recommends to the Board changes to affiliate policies and procedures for effective and economical operation of the affiliate.

· Responsible for the implementation and execution of policies, procedures, and directives adopted by the Board.

· Reports all aspects of the affiliate to the board and has chief administrative responsibility of the affiliate.

· Oversees the protection and maintenance of the affiliate’s assets.

· Carries responsibility to ensure that legal obligations of the organization are met in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable law, legal obligations of the affiliate, and Habitat for Humanity International covenant and guidelines.

· Oversees the development of an effective volunteer base to help carry out the work of the affiliate.

· Ensures all activities are carried out in a safe and healthy manner, meeting all OSHA and environmental requirements.

· Required testing for Certified Qualified Loan Originator.

· Required testing for Certified Competent Person

· Travel to Atlanta for New Exec Dir training

Qualifications/Education:

· High school diploma (Required)

· Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

· Experience in fundraising and in leading a volunteer organization (Preferred)

The vision of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. HFHI and its affiliates internationally accomplish this mission, through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, to build and rehabilitate houses for families in need of affordable housing. It is meant to be a hand-up, not a hand-out, in that the new homeowner is asked to spend a significant number of hours working on his or her new home and will be asked to
repay a non-interest or low-interest loan for the cost of the home.
