SUMMARY:Angels in Calico
DESCRIPTION:Parlin-Ingersoll Public Library is proud to present "Angels in Calico" by the Tea Ladies of Bloomington\, Illinois\, on Friday\, March 28\, 2014\, from 2-3 p.m. in the Library Program Room. \n\n\n\nNancy Perzo and Karen Patton\, known as the Tea Ladies\, are back again to present a program about women in the Civil War. This fascinating program is about the strong women of the Civil War who saw great needs and challenges and then did something about it. Learn about women who became nurses\, volunteers to physicians on the battlefields\, and organizers of campaigns to send supplies and money to the suffering troops. What great roles did Louisa May Alcott\, Susie Taylor\, Clara Barton\, and Mary Livermore accomplish and how did it impact their lives? Come join us for a program that will amaze and inspire everyone.\n\n\n\nPrevious library programs with the Tea Ladies have included programs on the Titanic\, the Chicago World's Fair in 1893\, and special teas for Victorian Christmas and Valentine's Day. "Our patrons have always enjoyed the Tea Ladies\, and we are delighted to have Nancy and Karen back at the library\," said Kim Bunner\, Library Director.
