SUMMARY:Family Night: View the Perseid Meteor Shower
DESCRIPTION:Families may enjoy viewing meteors zip through the sky throughout the night into the pre-dawn hours from the comfort of the Museum's Observation Deck.  Kids may also enjoy stories and crafts to take home. In addition\, Jesse Hoover\, an acting member of the Peoria Astronomical Society\, will be presenting on meteor showers\, meteorites\, and other objects.  The PAS is a non-profit organization of amateur astronomers from Peoria\, Illinois and the surrounding community.  Information can be found on their website at www.astronomical.org. \n\n \n\nDoors will open at 10:00 p.m. on August 11th and close at 5:00 a.m. August 12th. \n\nParticipants should dress appropriately for the outdoors and bring a lawn/camping chair or blanket and small flash light.  Light refreshments will be available.  Admission is free\; however\, donations are appreciated.
