Job Description: Patient Intake Specialist
We are seeking a candidate to perform supportive administrative duties in a healthcare office. This position serves as a primary contact for patients and families receiving services and works with the staff and doctors to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. We take pride and have developed a culture of excellent customer service. We are a growing optometric practice with 4-day work weeks, no weekends, and offer medical insurance as well as a SIMPLE IRA plan.
You will be asked to accurately and professionally:
*Answer phones and effectively triage/direct calls appropriately
*Collect patient information, verify insurance, apply accurate payments
*Effectively manage scheduling of appointments, recall of patients and confirmation of appointments to ensure a full daily schedule for three busy optometrists.
*Perform simple bookkeeping such as closing of business and bank deposit.
*Maintain compliance with HIPPA guidelines
Preferred Experience:
*Ability to follow protocols and policies while providing excellent patient service
*Preferred experience at a front desk, medical office and/or office management
*Preferred general knowledge of Medical Office Terminology
*Discretion, ability to work autonomously, and judgment in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines is required
*Good computer skills are a must. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
*Experience in an Optometry/Ophthalmology is desired but not required
