Job Title: Activity Bus Driver

Reports To: Director, Athletics

Hourly Wage: $15.00 Hourly

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The activity bus driver is responsible for transporting students and employees in a safe, professional, and timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Drives activity bus to and from events following a preplanned route.
2.    Assumes responsibility for the safety of passengers in loading, unloading, and transporting them to and from events.
3.    Drives in a safe and courteous manner while complying with all traffic regulations.
4.    Maintains required travel forms and driver logs.
5.    Performs routine cleaning of activity bus such as sweeping, picking up trash, etc.
6.    Reports any bus maintenance or accident issues to supervisor.
7.    Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1.    A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
2.    Must have documentation of a current Commercial Driver’s License physical exam and a CDL (Class C), including Passenger Endorsement, with a minimum two years CDL passenger driving experience.
3.    Must have a verifiable, good driving history for the past three (3) years. "Good driving history" is defined as not more than one moving violation or one at fault accident. MVR's will be requested and all application information is verified. Unreported items will result in termination of employment.
4.    Must have no DUI convictions.
5.    Must have a verifiable, positive work history with no separations due to substance abuse violations.
6.    Ability to read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Physical demands for this position include the ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, bend, push, pull, kneel, climb, use hands and fingers, and talk / hear for extended periods of time. This position requires the ability to lift and/or carry weight up to forty (40) pounds without assistance. Vision requirements include the ability to view and read instructions and the ability to operate a vehicle safely. The work environment for this position includes extremes in indoor and outdoor temperatures.
